Schiaparelli wins Leger Challenge for the fifth time

After four wins in Germany, Schiaparelli managed to strike a fifth victory at the Ladbrokes St. Leger at Doncaster. With this win, he managed to give Godolphin a first domestic Group One victory for the season. This win also registered the first win for Sheikh Mohammed’s team since the Rule of Law had won the Leger five years ago.
Meanwhile, Ted Durcan scored a win over Frank Dettori on Godolphin’s Ashram in the Dubai Duty Free Cup. Dettori’s mount Huntdown just wasn’t a match for Ashram, who managed to strike a two and a half length win.
I was told that Frankie was actually asked by his trainer Saeed bin Suroor if he was sure he was on the right horse. And the answer he gave was a No. however as he handled the ground so well, Bin Suroor said that they would give him an additional run before taking him to Dubai.
Meanwhile, I noticed (and you guys may have indeed heard) that Vincent O’Brien was honored to see a win for his grandson, trainer David Myerscough, at the Curragh. Though Irish Heartbeat had lightly raced as a four year old sprinter, he still managed to put in a tremendous fight in the Ladbrokes.com Autumn Festival Handicap.
