RIP warning issued by O’Brien

Aidan O’Brien has given a warning that Rip Van Wrinkle will most probably not be making it to the line-up for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, which will be run at Ascot on September 26th.

It was a late foot injury that occurred while the three year old won the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood that led to him feeling sore. This is why,  although he has trained for the QEII, nothing can be said at the moment as he is still not 100% fit. His trainer states that he is recovering slowly, and is not guaranteed to appear at the race.

My guess is, if he is not 100% that they won’t risk it.

Rip Van Wrinkle’s first victory of the season was at Goodwood, while he has also finished fourth in the 2000 Guineas and Derby and a second-place finish in the Eclipse. In my view, if it hadn’t have been for his foot problems, he would have ended up being one of the superstars of this year.

I have some great news to mention to you all; one of the most fascinating, controversial and talented characters in racing, one Kieren Fallon is slotted to make a comeback on Friday.

More than 20 years have passed since the famous Irishman had landed in Britain to ride for Jimmy Fitzgerald. Since then, he has grown from a journeyman type jockey to working for three of the best training institutions in horse racing.

From what I have seen and heard, Kieron Fallon is as hungry as ever for success, is fitter than he has ever been and is looking forward to the challenge of top class racing again.

Should Kieron Fallon be allowed to come back so soon though, what say you??
