O’Grady to try his luck at fences

With his below par show over hurdles, it looks like Catch Me will be reverting to fences at the Knight Frank Novice Chase at Leopardstown next Monday. According to Edward O’Grady, this move was initiated by the rescheduling of the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle as it was felt that the race wasn’t much to Catch Me’s benefit.
He also stated that after winning four out of five last year, it was really unlucky that Catch Me didn’t manage to win two out of three chases this year. He was also pleased to run him in the Hatton’s Grace, despite that day being unlucky for all of his horses.
However O’Grady states that Catch Me is in excellent form now, which is why there are plans for running him at Leopardstown’s Knight Frank Novice Chase.
In the meantime, I’ve heard that Musselburgh could be the next victim to fall to the cold weather that most of us have been experiencing lately. Officials have decided to abandon today’s scheduled meeting after carrying out a course inspection and it was determined that the conditions were not safe to race.
As general manager Bill Farnsworth wanted to give the seven race card a second chance, he had arranged for a second check even after first assessing conditions this morning. However as the forecast was not favorable with frost coming out of the ground, the fixture was naturally called off.
