Moore expecting a repeat display

After winning the Normans Grove Chase at Fairyhouse last year, Arthur Moore expects a repeat and bold display from 11 year old Masony this Sunday. This is because Naas, the handlers believe that Masony is in great form, and will be fresh and eager to go to work in running his first run of the season.

Similarly, I hear that Harry Tricker is slated to make an attempt to win the Totesport Trophy, giving Gary Moore a third victory in the race. While last year’s race was cancelled due to bad weather, Heathcote won it in 2007 and Wingman, in 2008. Harry Tricker’s last run ended with a second to Khyber Kim in Greatwood Hurdle, at Cheltenham.

So far, Paul Nolan hasn’t made any announcement of Joncol’s participation in the Ryanair Chase. He says that he would make the final decision based on the performance of his charge in next month’s Irish Hennessy at Leopardstown.

He had taken Joncol out of the Gold Cup because of inexperience; however there is still a possibility of his running at the Ryanair Chase. He states that his plan at the moment was to not rush things, but to get the Irish Hennessy out of the way, and then make future plans.
