Moore bees at York

A swarm of bees could not even keep Ryan Moore from continuing with his impressive winning spree and another jockeys’ title. It was at the Macmillan Charity Day at York that he had managed to complete a double on Kavachi and Swiss Diva, with a swarm of bees keeping him company in a situation that I have never before witnessed in racing.
Ladies quickly exited the area when these bees descended on two of the seating areas that overlook the parade ring. However, normal service was resumed after a beekeeper eventually arrived to round up the bees.
However, this did not disturb Moore from keeping things in the family as he went on to gain the race lead into the final furlong. This more than impressive performance in utterly bizarre circumstances lead to him beating Albaqaa and thus, winning the Ladbrokes.com Stakes.
Moore of course received his training from his father Gary and sister Hayley, who had recently finished unplaced in the ladies’ race at Kingsdale Orion. In the meantime, I have to say that Katie Cooper has managed to live up to her nickname, ‘Ice cool Katie’ by winning her first win under Rules. This was her ninth attempt on Mull of Dubai, trained by Tom Tate.
She managed to come from last to first, to win the Queen Mother’s Cup. In the process, she managed to earn herself 36 bottles of champagne. While Tate’s splendid training was vital to this victory, Tate says that Katie is their secretary, who they refer to as ‘ice cool’. Keeping to her name, she remained cool and did just as she was told to win the race.
I do hope the champers was equally as ice cool to celebrate the victory!
