I told you about Tony McCoy aiming to claim his 3000th winner over the sticks at Sandown on Saturday. However his wait has been prolonged till Tuesday, and that too may be in doubt, unless the weather permits the race at Market Rasen to proceed as scheduled.

He is now on his 2,998th winner and was supposed to try out his luck at Southwell this afternoon in three rides. However snowfall leads to the meeting getting cancelled.

He still has three scheduled booked rides in Gabresalassie, Lincolnshire and Synchronized for Jonjo O’Neill and Illicit Spirit for Charlie Egerton. However at this stage, even this race looks bleak with an inspection in the fore for today.

According to the course clerk Nick Patton, an inspection was scheduled for 2 pm this afternoon after they had had about two inches of snow. After the early inspection, they will consider the prospect of racing which didn’t actually look hopeful.

In the meantime, I found that the even the races scheduled at Ludlow on Wednesday looked bleak with it being frozen in some places. The course clerk Bob Davies said that they had a snow covering and that the course was also frozen underneath. Moreover, more snow is also forecasted. This is why an 8 am inspection was called for on Tuesday.
