Aidan O’Brien has created history by becoming the first trainer to win the Irish Derby for three consecutive years with Frozen Fire making a surprise win at the Curragh on Sunday.

Aiden O’Brien is really shocked and happy with the win after winning the Dylan Thomas in 2006 and the Soldier of Fortune last year. He was really happy with the work Seamus had had put in his horse, which helped him win the race.

He also mentioned that the race was a mile and a half long, and that the Curragh really tests the ability of the horse as it is not only a fair track, but also the greatest racecourse in the world.

Basically, the race had looked like a straight foot race between Curtain Call, Johnny Murtagh’s Alessandro Volta and the favorite Tartan Bearer in the final stages. However I think that it was Alessandro Volta’s sudden veering to the left that affected Curtain Call.

Frozen Fire was in the right place at this time to take control of the race, and thus, his two-length victory.
