Fame And Glory put to test

According to Aidan O’Brien, St. Nicholas Abbey has the potential of winning the Investec Derby. This is in spite of the fact that he had failed in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket last year.
O’Brien states that he is in the best of form, and the failure was something to be taken in his stride and to be learned from. After this race, he did mention that they were still looking at Epsom. Besides St. Nicholas Abbey, O’Brien also has the winners of the Dante Stakes and Derrinstown Derby Trial, Cape Blanco and Midas Touch to consider for the race.
I am also hearing that Aidan O’Brien feels that Fame And Glory will be facing a stiff test in Sunday’s Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh. After his two starts this year, Fame And Glory had improved a lot, and according to O’Brien, once he got some cut in the ground, it helped him a lot.
Justice prevails
In the meantime, I have to mention that Peter Brown, who was accused of killing two young jockeys, Jamie Kyne, 18 and Jan Wilson, 19 in a drunken revenge attack. As you may have heard on the news, he was finally found guilty of the act. The jury of six men and six women took 13 hours to deliver their verdicts.
In response to the verdict, the families of the young jockeys thanked the jury for the justice brought to Jan and Jamie. They did mention special thanks to the support rendered to them over the past few months, especially for the support from the Injured Jockeys Fund.
