This season has seen the formation of a great alliance between Nicky Henderson and Barry Geraghty with both of them achieving personal bests. To date, the Queen’s trainer is only two winners short of reaching the century mark for the first time in his career, while jockey Geraghty has accomplished a maiden 50 British successes.
This is all because of a 9-1 double - courtesy of successes for Tasheba and Higgy’s Boy at Ascot. Tasheba helped Geraghty reach the half century mark and in doing so got Henderson to 97 wins.
According to Geraghty, this was the first time he had had 50 winners over here and it was great to accomplish it in his first season with Henderson. It should also be noted that he has had 40 winners at home in Ireland, and so he is close to reaching a century of winners this season.
In the meantime, it looks like Andrew Thornton has unfortunately been suspended from racing for three days, due to the fact that he weighed in over one pound lighter than when he had weighed out aboard Radar Love.
As you may or may not know, all jockeys have to weigh in before a race, and on completion of the race they have to weigh out. This is done to ensure that the weights of all jockeys are legitimate, and so any substantial differences in weight are often scrutinised, and in this case, penalised.
Consequently, Radar Love who is trained by Paul Webber and who had won the Birthday Sponsorship At racesponsors.co.uk Handicap Chase at Fontwell, was disqualified. This lead to the runner up, Silver Steel being promoted to first place. Thornton will be banned from racing between April 11 -13.

If Andrew Thornton weighed in so light that he was disqualified he must be in breach of the same results that governed the jockeys punished for race fixing. 6 MONTHS MINIMUM BAN
