With the abandoning of the high profile meeting at Cheltenham that was due on Saturday because of water logging, I have learnt that the British Horseracing Authority will now be holding a meeting on Monday to reschedule all lost races.

I feel this move was taken because many trainers are interested in saving the important and valuable content of the seven race card, the Boylesports.com International Hurdle. The Ascot I hear is slotted to be a possible venue for the Grade Two heat where Katchit had recently won a race.

However BHA PR manager, Paul Struthers has mentioned that the action of rescheduling races at Cheltenham will be decided only tomorrow. Even some connections of the trainer who trains Binocular, Nicky Henderson is said to urge parties to hold the International Hurdle on Berkshire course. I presume the main reason for his enthusiasm is the fact that the Binocular was a probable favorite of the original race at Cheltenham.

Besides all this controversy about rescheduling this Cheltenham meeting, you may have heard that Ruby Walsh had managed to get his first win on returning to action after his spleen injury. He had ruptured his spleen in a fall at Cheltenham last month and made his comeback on Friday - They’re courageous blokes these jockeys!

The Irish jockey had managed to beat Scotirish in the O’Connell Logistics Hilly Way Chase at Cork, demonstrating that he’s back on the circuit and that he’s lost none of his winning ability.
