After lots of apprehension, Jim Bolger has announced that New Approach is finally fit for, and will be running in tomorrow’s Juddmonte International at Newmarket.
New Approach has not run in any race since the Vodafone Derby in June and tomorrow will be heading for an interesting race with the Duke of Marmalade at York. In fact, with the abandoning of the race of the year, the Ebor meeting, the race will be back with the Bolger at headquarters.
I have heard that another favorable for the race is the Coral-Eclipse runner up, Phoenix Tower. It is said that he is in the form of his life, which is what will make this race a tough and interesting race. Its owner Khalid Abdullah and racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe say that it is a fast-ground horse, which will make it easier for it to run in the firm grounds of the Newmarket.
And with the excellent training it had before the race, and the good race in Eclipse all give a reason to say that it is a genuine Group One contender. Morrison says that the decision to declare it for the race was a last minute one, as they feel that it definitely needs to run the race. Though he is not at his best, with the ground just right, he should be able to run a good race.
