A cash boost for the Ayr Gold Cup

I have some great news for horse racing enthusiasts; the richest flat race meeting scheduled in Scotland, the John Smith’s Ayr Gold Cup Festival has just been allotted a cash boost in with its prize money reaching 600,000 pounds. This is a 100,000 pounds increase from the cash prize money of last year.
The races for the festival will run from Thursday to Saturday from September 18 to 20 and will feature a Group 3 race, two Listed Races and Gold and Silver Cups. The prize money for the Gold Cup is now slotted at 150,000 pounds with a 30,000 pound increase where the winner takes home 93,465 pounds.
The Silver Cup is getting a 15,000 pound hike and is worth 50,000 pounds while the Laundry Cottage Stud Firth of Clyde Stakes which is a Group 3 event and the Doonside Cup that is a Listed Race have 80,000 and 60,000 pound prizes respectively. So it can be said that over the span of three days, 606,000 pounds of prize money will be won in horse racing.
The managing Director of Ayr, Richard Johnstone said that this horse race has attracted an early entry of 171 horses where 25 of them are rated 100 or higher. So both he and I think that we are all going to get a treat from the race this year.
